The collection of toll tax on the Outer Ring Road has been handed over to a different agency, IRB Infrastructures Developers Limited on a temporary basis, a press statement from HMDA informed on Tuesday.

The users with passes may exchange their old passes with new ones. More information on obtaining new passes may be accessed on HMDA website.

The agency will begin to operate from Thursday and pay a fixed sum of ₹ 87,03,900 per day to HMDA.

The contract of Eagle Infra India Limited for toll collection on the ORR ends on Wednesday, and fresh tenders were called earlier for a duration of nine months. Three agencies participated in the tender process, and the IRB Infrastructures had quoted a maximum of ₹ 26.1 crore.

However, another agency approached court challenging the tender and the court imposed a stay on final decision on the finance bid till June 15.

To resolve the deadlock, another tender was called for, to collect toll on temporary basis. The IRB Infrastructures had quoted the maximum daily payment, winning the tender.
