L&TMRH runs nearly 550 trips covering around 13,000 km every day.

The L& T Metro Rail Hyderabad (L&TMRH) said metro trains have carried up to three crore passengers as on November 14, in the 351 days of operation across the inaugural stretch of Nagole-Ameerpet-Miyapur opened last year and the Ameerpet to L.B. Nagar stretch opened nearly two months ago.

Managing director and chief executive officer K.V.B. Reddy said on Thursday that the milestone of carrying 30 million passengers was achieved in less than a year of starting the operations.

“We run nearly 550 trips covering around 13,000 train km every day. This has been possible with all the hard work, support and collaboration of all our employees,” he said.

Mr. Reddy also mentioned that the contribution of the operations and maintenance operator Keolis, the French firm, was key in running the trains without any major issues.

The government’s special purpose vehicle, Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR), too came in for praise for its continued support and cooperation. The MD pointed out that the HMR has made a significant impact on the commuting behaviour of people in the city and said that he was more satisfied by the manner in which the passengers have adjusted to the travel mode. More interesting in the data supplied by the concessionaire is punctuality maintenance at 99.7% and train service delivery of 99.9%!

The trains have also travelled 2,553,422 km till date.
