Nakrekal MLA loses relative in the bus accident

Poignant scenes were witnessed at the Area Hospital in Ramannapet where the bodies of all the 10 killed in the bus-lorry collision were taken. Around 10 p.m., the last three victims were identified as Nirmala (30) and her three-year-old son Jagadeeshwar, residents of Dwaraka Nagar in Nalgonda town and Vemula Yadagiri.

Unfortunately, Yadagiri was himself a driver with the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) and on completion of his duty, was returning to Narketpalli, where he lived. It was on a particularly sad note that he was identified as a relative of Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham who himself had visited the hospital an hour or so ago.

But he had no clue that he had lost a relative in the accident because the body was not identified at the time he visited. And he was said to have given vent to his grief when someone at the hospital told him about one of the deceased being identified as his relative.

When contacted, TSRTC Managing Director G.V. Ramana Rao said he had just then received information about the fact that the corporation had lost two drivers — one on duty and the other who was returning home after his schedule. He expressed his grief and made specific mention of the three-year-old boy and his mother losing their lives too.

For the past few hours, it was ceaseless work for the doctors and para-medical staff who received the 10 bodies and went about doing the post-mortem examination. And as they would complete the job on each of the bodies, someone would positively identify and tag them.
