Modi to inaugurate National Career Counselling Centre

Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said that the employment information and guidance bureau in Osmania University campus here will be upgraded as National Career Counselling Centre and inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi soon.

Speaking at an exhibition-cum-awareness programme on initiatives of Ministry of Labour and Employment in the past one year, Mr. Dattatreya said the centre will disseminate information on job vacancy in government and private sectors through SMSes with the aid of its database.

He announced the laying of foundation stone for a 100-bed hospital of Employees State Insurance Corporation at Goshamahal here soon. The ESCI will also manage the medical college constructed on the campus of ESI hospital at Sanatnagar. The hospital will extend super speciality treatment.

Mr. Dattatreya also said he will talk to the Chief Ministers of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to settle the dispute over sharing of corpus created for the welfare of construction workers out of cess paid by builders.

Stating that the registration of workers in the unorganised sector had just now begun, the Union Minister said their number was estimated to be 45 crore and that they will be given smartcards for extension of social security measures when the registration was completed.
