A four-year-old girl who was kidnapped two days ago from Sanathnagar was found murdered on Friday night. Her body was recovered from her neighourer’s house by the police.

“The assailants slit the throat of the girl and kept the body in a plastic bag. Apparently, they were waiting for an opportunity to dispose off the body,” DCP (Malkajgiri), Rama Rajeshwari told media persons.

The victim went missing on Wednesday afternoon from Deendhayalnagar in Sanathnagar. The girl went out of the house to play along with her friends when she had gone missing. Her parents Naveen Chary and Mayuri approached the Sanathnagar police where a kidnap case was registered and a team formed to trace the girl.

Even as the team was enquiring with the relatives and parents of the girl to get clues, the colony people informed the police of foul smell emanating from the house of Naveen’s neighbour Laxmiah. When the police searched the house, they found the victim’s body concealed in a plastic bag.

The police detained a few persons for questioning. Investigation revealed that Naveen was having some disputes with his neighbours over a compound wall.

It is suspected that a woman kidnapped the girl and murdered her.
