An upcoming Telugu film actor who had been missing since May 27 made a dramatic appearance before Banjara Hills police on Tuesday and claimed she was away from home due to the alleged sexual harassment by her mother’s “partner” N. Prasad Rao.

The actor gave a statement saying she had left on her own from her residence in Krishnanagar as she was unable to bear harassment by Rao. She also accused her mother of allowing Rao to stay on at their house.

“We are producing her before a magistrate to record her statement. As of now, a missing case is registered which will be altered once she gives her statement before the magistrate,” police said.

She left the house saying that she was going to attend film shooting outside the city, but failed to return home. During this period, she stayed in a hostel. The actor acted in a number of television shows and also played a lead role in a yet-to-be-released Telugu film.
