Accused lured 11-year-old girl who came to play with his granddaughter

The parents of a 11-year-old girl from Kalapather in Old City area on Monday alleged that their daughter was raped by their 50-year-old neighbour.

Kalapather Police Station Station House Officer said the victim’s family had moved into a one-room tenement in the neighbourhood of the accused Mohammed Aslam about a week ago. Over the past few days, the victim, a class 4 student, befriended the accused’s granddaughter and used to visit their house. O

n the pretext of giving her sweets and chocolates, Aslam used to lure and lock her in a room before allegedly raping her. In her complaint to the police, the victim’s mother said her daughter was assaulted at least on three occasions. Aslam also allegedly threatened to kill the child if she revealed the assaults.

They sent the victim for medical examination and booked cases against the accused who is absconding.
