more-in

Design of the upcoming line from Raidurg Metro station and Metro pillars to the Cyber Gateway station will be such that it can also facilitate construction of the proposed underpass and flyover planned by the GHMC at Mindspace junction, said Hyderabad Metro Rail Managing Director N.V.S. Reddy.

Engineers of the HMR and L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Ltd. were told to mark the available Right of Way (RoW) on either side of the stretch from Cyber towers to Raheja Mindspace IT Park, since location of about 70 Metro pillars and Metro station locations of Cyber Gateway and Raidurg terminal station have been broadly agreed upon.

Mr. Reddy inspected the extended stretch of about 2.4 km between Hitec City Metro station and the Raidurg terminal station along with Cyberabad DCP (Traffic) Avinash K. Mohanty and structural design engineers of L&TMRHL and HMR. The pillars would be located either on the central median or to the edge of the road with the portal structures too having one column is in the central median and another column to the edge of the road.

The location and position of pillars near Hitec City flyover have been changed so that they are on the edge of the flyover and not obstruct the flow of traffic on the carriage way. Service roads are to be provided on either side for better traffic management.

The parking and circulation area near the National Institute of Fashion Technology (Nift) being constructed as a part of Transit Oriented Development (TOD) was inspected and plans were checked for amenities and facilities like skywalks from the station. HMR chief engineer Md. Ziauddin and other officers were also present.
