The Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad (SEAMO) is to be conducted for the first time in the country on August 6. Students of classes V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI and XII are eligible for the Olympiad. Duration of the exam is 2 hours and it entails multiple choice questions in mathematics.
With a presence in 11 Asian countries such as Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Jakarta, Brunei, Timor-Leste and Philippines, the SEAMO will now provide Indian students an opportunity to discover their mathematical talents, and will benchmark their performance as compared to international students.
Top 0.025% participating students will win a gold plated medal and a certificate of participation, next 1% will get a silver plated medal and a certificate of participation and the next 2% will get a bronze plated medal and a certificate of participation. All remaining participants will be presented with a certificate of participation.
Registration fee for classes V to IX students is ₹1,150 (including service tax) and for classes X , XI and XII is ₹1,300 (including service tax). For more details, visit http://seamo-official.org
