Marri writes open letter to Speaker

Seeks the reason for delay in accepting resignation letter submitted by Talasani Srinivas Yadav

June 16, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Former Minister Marri Sashidhar Reddy has dashed off an open letter to the Telangana Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary questioning the delay in acting on the resignation letter submitted by the TDP legislator Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who is also a Minister in the TRS government.

In a letter, copies of which were released to the media on Monday, Mr. Sashidhar Reddy said it was exactly six months since Mr.Yadav was sworn in as a Minister in the TRS government. His resignation as an MLA submitted to the Speaker has not been accepted so far, he said.

He reminded that the Governor advised the Telangana Chief Minister that Mr. Yadav should resign as an MLA before being sworn in as a Minister.

He questioned whether the Governor has no role in ensuring that his pre-requisite of resignation is complied with.

He said there was lack of transparency on the part of the GHMC on modalities of the delimitation of the municipal divisions for the ensuing polls.
