Many seeking fish prasadam turned away

June 11, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:37 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Scores of people who stood in serpentine queues for fish prasadam were turned away after the medicine supply was exhausted on Tuesday evening.

The distribution of tokens for purchase of fingerlings was stopped at 8.30 p.m. after Bathini Goud family members announced that the medicine was exhausted. They told the crowd that those who could not avail the prasadam can visit their residence in Doodhbowli where it would be administered on Wednesday. The Fisheries Department handed over around 500 fingerlings to them. The announcement agitated the crowd, but police and the family members managed to calm them.
