Man ‘beats’ brother to death

A 26-year-old man was allegedly killed by his elder brother at their house at Sainagar Colony in L.B. Nagar on Wednesday night.

The victim, A. Ravi, a labourer at Kothapet fruit market, used to stay along with his family after his wife deserted him. On Wednesday night, Ravi returned home in an intoxicated condition and created a nuisance. He damaged household articles and also beat up the family members.

His brother Venkat when informed about the ruckus beat up Ravi with a stick leading to his death.

The family members then dumped the body in an open plot and tried to mislead the police. However, the police got to know the truth after interrogating some family members.

A 19 year-old-woman was killed in a road accident at Hi-Tec city on Wednesday night. The victim, P. Deepika, a B. Pharmacy student of Yousufguda was going along with her friend Krishna Kumar on a two-wheeler when another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction hit them. Deepika and Krishna fell down and sustained serious injuries. The woman was declared brought dead at the hospital while her friend was undergoing treatment.
