Malkajgiri inspector suspended

Malkajgiri police inspector Komraiah was suspended on Tuesday for allegedly indulging in acts of corruption.

Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M. Bhagwat confirmed the suspension. He said Mr. Komraiah was allegedly involved in corruption but declined to comment further.

Commenting on the issue, a senior police officer, who did not wish to be identified said, “We had information that he was involved in several instances of corruption. He was even given a warning.”

Mr. Komraiah is said to have allegedly demanded ₹1 lakh from a couple who had come to lodge a complaint. They later informed senior officials of the development.
