Govt. assures support in emergency visa and travel expenses

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao expressed shock over the gunning down of a student from Telangana by unknown miscreant at Kansas city, Missouri, in the US on Friday.

The CM deputed Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari, NRI Affairs Minister K.T. Rama Rao, Animal Husbandry Minister T. Srinivas Yadav to console the bereaved family and assured to extend necessary support from the State government.

Mr. Rao assured all the necessary support, including emergency visa and travel expanses, if the family members wished to fly to US to get back the mortal remains of Sharath Koppu.

“I have already spoken to the FRRO and Indian consulate in Chicago over phone to speed up the process for repatriation Sharath’s mortal remains to India and have received positive response,” he said, adding that the process will take at least four to five days.

People from Telugu community in Kansas are also coordinating with the Consulate, he said.

Former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, senior Congress leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy and other political party leaders consoled the family members at their residence here.
