The Telangana Congress continued its attack on the State government seeking answers from it on the Kaleshwaram ‘corruption’ allegations while deriding the “derogatory remarks” made by IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao.

Inappropriate words

The TPCC working president Bhatti Vikramarka said at a press conference here that the government was running away from answers and instead, diverting the attention choosing to abuse the party and its leaders. The inappropriate words used by Mr. Rama Rao were nothing but an attempt to run away from the questions raised by Mr. Gandhi during his visit, he said adding that words used only dilute the image of politicians and more so a Minister.

Mr. Vikramarka challenged the government to come for an open debate on Kaleshwaram project and reiterated the allegations that the re-design was a huge scam.

“I am ready for the debate and leave the opportunity for the government to send KTR, Harish Rao or Tummala Nageshwara Rao. We will prove how the project is engulfed in corruption,” he said.

He also criticised the Roads & Buildings Minister, Tummala Nageshwara Rao, for his remarks that contractors did not do any work after taking mobilisation advance during the Congress rule.

“Why is the government silent on the contractors and did not take any action against them in the last four years?” he asked.

Mr. Vikramarka questioned Mr. Tummala as to why the government has given works to the very same contractors now.
