A recently-married youth fell to death while flying a kite on the terrace of his rented house in Warasiguda here on Sunday.

Chilkalguda police said Syed Khaleed (27) was looking at his kite and stepped back pulling the thread. Right behind him was a short parapet wall. Khaleed fell from the second floor of the building and landed straight on the compound wall. He suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to Gandhi Hospital, where he died during treatment, said T. Narsimha Raju, additional inspector, Chilkalguda. The incident occurred around 4 p.m.

He said the victim was a scrap dealer and had got married six months ago.
