Kishanbagh firing: magisterial inquiry ordered. He sanctioned an ex-gratia of Rs. 6 lakh to the victims’ families.

Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the Kishanbagh police firing incident where three persons were killed here on Wednesday.

Mr. Narasimhan held a meeting with the police officials to review the circumstances that led to the firing, here on Thursday.

He sanctioned an ex-gratia of Rs. 6 lakh to the victims’ families and Rs. 50,000 to the injured besides free medical treatment.

Compensation would also be paid as per norms to those who lost property in the arson. The Governor appealed to all sections to remain peaceful.
