Kin of accident victim donate organs under Jeevandan

Family members of 35-year-old Somesh Chary, a private employee who received fatal injuries in a road accident in Nalgonda on June 4, have donated his organs to needy patients under Jeevandan, the State-run organ donation scheme. Immediately after the accident, Mr. Somesh was taken to a local hospital in Nalgonda and later shifted to KIMS, Hyderabad for better treatment.

On June 11, the attending doctors at KIMS declared Somesh Chary as brain dead.

The deceased is survived by wife and two children, who consented to donate organs.

The hospital transplant co-ordinator Ashok Reddy took up grief counselling with the relatives of Somesh Chary.

The surgeons retrieved two kidneys, liver and two heart valves.
