KCR inspects two-bedroom housing units

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday inspected the two-bed room housing units being built by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) at IDH Colony and directed the officials to ensure that all works were completed by June first week. Mr.Rao said he himself would come there to inaugurate the housing project on June 2, the State formation day. The civic body has taken up the project to build 396 units spread over 32 blocks at a total cost of Rs.37 crore. Each housing unit measuring around 580 square feet comes with two bedrooms, hall, kitchen and two toilets and equipped with all required amenities, according to a press release.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Ministers, T.Harish Rao, T.Srinivas Yadav, N.Narasimha Reddy and others.

Swachh Hyderabad

For ‘Swachh Hyderabad’ programme proposed to be taken up in the month of May, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar has instructed senior officers to extensively inspect their circles and compile reports on development works and sanitation initiatives to be taken up there. The officers were also directed to acquire 100 JCBs for works such as garbage lifting and desilting of nalas, according to a press release. For the ‘Swachh Hyderabad’ programme, special control rooms at the head office and zonal offices would be set up and special monitoring teams constituted, he said.
