KCR holds review meet with GHMC officials

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao held a review with the GHMC officials on Tuesday regarding construction of roads and improving connectivity in and around the city. It was decided that major corridors, major roads and separators will be constructed in the first phase with a cost of Rs. 3,981 crore in a span of 12 months.

Meanwhile, GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer, Somesh Kumar, said that all the nodal officers and team leaders delegated for Swachh Hyderabad initiative should visit their assigned segments on Thursday and interact with local residents, residential welfare associations and public representatives. Addressing senior officials from various government departments at a training programme held here on Tuesday, he said the officials must go around and assess as to how many colonies fall in their segment and how to take up works required there. Instant repair teams were already formed and necessary equipments such as crowbar, sand, metal, hand grooms etc., provided in vehicles, he said.

The Commissioner of Police, M.Mahender Reddy, said the police department was setting up CC TV cameras in public places to curb crime rate and requested the nodal officers to impress upon the residential welfare associations the need to install cameras in their colonies as a precautionary measure.

The police department is deputing ACPs, Inspectors and Sub Inspectors in all the 400 segments for the Swachh Hyderabad initiative, he said.

The Hyderabad Metro Water Supply & Sewerage Board Managing Director, M.Jagadishwar said nearly 500 officials of the water board would be participating in the programme to attend complaints on sewerage and drainage related works.
