Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLC R. Bhoopathi Reddy, here on Wednesday, criticised the K. Chandrashekar Rao’s government for allegedly miserably failing on all fronts and not implementing any of its promises made in the election manifesto.

Mr. Rao after coming to power deceived Telangana agitators by using them in the movement, he said.

Addressing a joint press conference along with TRS State secretary Vidyasagar Rao, he said those who believed their lives would improve in the separate State, were left in the lurch. KCR and his family worked for contracts and commissions while hobnobbing with Andhra contractors, he alleged. The rebel MLC, who is likely to join the Congress party, said Mr. Rao had given importance to leaders who opposed Telangana and kept themselves away from the agitation and meted out injustice to those who had been in the TRS and agitated for Telangana ever since the party was established in 2001.

“I was with the party from the beginning. I wanted to fight elections from on party ticket in 2004, 2009 and 2014. However, respecting the party leadership’s appeal, withdrew from the fray every time. As I wish to contest the election from Nizamabad Rural, the party sidelined me in favour of former MLA Bajireddy Govardhan, who criticized KCR and his family all the time,” he said.

Mr. Bhoopathi Reddy, who is a leading Orthopedic surgeon, said that he came into politics quitting lucrative medical practice. “I have never desired to earn money in politics. Party leadership needs only those who earn through commissions. Nine months passed since the party MLAs, MLCs and MPs appealed to the party leadership to take disciplinary action against me. But, why didn’t it take the action till now,” he questioned.

Mr. Vidyasagar Rao said despite the Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy failing to take along all party leaders and cadres together he was allowed to continue as the leader in the district. “Though I am party State secretary and have been in it since 2001, I have never been involved in any decision-making process. I have come to support Bhoopathi Reddy,” he said
