Member of Parliament K. Kavitha said there were many people who were not aware of the schemes meant for their welfare and therefore are unable to avail them. Hence, the community heads should enlighten their people on the public welfare schemes, she said.

Interacting with the heads of 16 Munnurukapu tarpas (divisions) on their problems and demands here on Wednesday, she asked them to act as an interface between the government and their community to get problems solved. When all sections of people could avail the benefits of schemes the society would develop, she said.

Development plans

Ms. Kavitha said all development works which have been under way in the town would come to an end by December and requested the residents to be patient and cooperative till then. Once these works, including underground drainage, Mission Bhagiratha, road widening, lighting and junctions were over, the town would get a facelift, she said.

She promised to sanction a kalyanamandapam and hostel for Munnurukapu students. She advised them take an active part in the effective implementation of Haritha Haram by planting plenty of saplings. Last year, ₹150 crore was spent for the construction of new roads and a total 3,500 double bedroom houses were in the final stage. Municipal Administration Minister K.T. Rama Rao will visit to conduct a review meeting on the execution of developmental works on June 25, she said.

Later, she participated as the chief guest in the Golla Kurmala meeting at Bodhan. MLC D. Rajeswar, MLA Md. Shakeel and sangham district president Bhoomanna and Manjula were present.
