Lauded KCR for completing project in record time

TRS working president and Sircilla legislator K.T. Rama Rao said on Friday that good days were ahead for farmers with the completion of KLIP.

He participated in the inauguration celebrations at Upper Manair Dam (UMD) by performing pujas at Narmal in Gambhiraopeta mandal on Friday.

Hailing Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for completing the project in a record three years and attracting the attention of the entire world, he thanked former Minister T. Harish Rao and all officials, engineers and workers involved in it.

Thanking land oustees of various projects under the KLIP, he said he would pay his obeisance to the feet of the oustees as only due to their sacrifices, the government could take measures for providing irrigation to one crore acres. Quoting that the State would be prosperous only if farmers were happy, he said the government had introduced Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima schemes, which were the first-of-its-kind in the country.

He added that the KLIP would also solve the drinking water woes of the entire State and meet the requirements of industries.

He said by Dasara, water from the Mid Manair Dam would be lifted to Malakpet reservoir and other projects, including the Upper Manair Dam, and all tanks would be filled to provide irrigation to over 2.2 lakh acres in Rajanna-Sircilla district.

TSCAB chairman K. Ravinder Rao, legislator Balka Suman, MLC P. Srinivas Reddy, Collector Krishna Bhaskar and others were also present.
