Redesigning of the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project is a big scam, Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) president M. Kodandaram has alleged, adding that the corruption may well put Chief Minister and TRS supremo K. Chandrasekhar Rao behind bars.

Addressing a public meeting in Dubbak on Wednesday after visiting several villages, Prof. Kodandaram said in the name of redesigning of Kaleshwaram project, corruption to the tune of about ₹40,000 has taken place. “Whoever comes to power in 2019 will surely order an investigation into the redesigning of the projects and will send Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao behind bars. We will be among the people and take the responsibility of addressing their problems. Let us change our Telangana for better and improve our standards of living,” he added.

He said many made some sacrifice or the other for the formation of a separate Telangana State and those who had heckled the agitators then became ministers in the TRS government. Referring to Mallannasagar agitation, he said farmers are awaiting justice for the past two years.

Prof. Kodandaram has announced the candidature of Chindam Rajkumar as the candidate from Dubbak constituency.
