Congress candidate Jajala Surender bags Yellareddy seat

Bigala Ganesh Gupta, re-elected from Nizamabad Urban.

The TRS once again proved its hold on the erstwhile undivided district by winning eight out of nine Assembly constituencies with a thumping majority in all. Only one seat, Yellareddy, has gone in favour of Congress where Jajala (Nallamadugu) Surender wrested the seat from the three-time MLA Enugu Ravinder Reddy by a majority of 35,148 votes.

From the first to the last round, Surender maintained the lead over Ravinder Reddy.

The former secured 91,510 votes while the latter polled 56,362 votes.

BSP’s Talari Bal Raju got 9,684 votes while BJP candidate Banala Laxma Reddy got 6,357 votes, and lost the deposit. A highest number of 2,218 voters preferred NOTA here.

Pocharam wins

Agriculture Minister P. Srinivas Reddy retained Banswada constituency for the sixth time defeating the Congress nominee Kasula Balaraju by 18,697 votes.

In Kamareddy, leader of the Opposition in Council Mohammed Shabbir Ali was defeated by Gampa Govardhan for the fourth time and he lost the seat with a margin of 4,557 votes. The BJP came in third with 15,439 votes.

In Bodhan, Mohammed Shakeel Amer retained the seat by defeating former Minister P. Sudarshan Reddy for the second time with a margin of 8,262. BJP nominee Aljapur Srinivas, who secured 8,381 votes, lost the deposit. In Balkonda, Mission Bhagiratha vice-chairman Vemula Prashanth Reddy routed BSP nominee Mutyala Sunil Reddy by a majority of 32,559.

Here, Congress nominee Anil Kumar Eravatri finished in third position, by getting 30,135 votes. BJP candidate R. Rajeswar got just 3,057 votes.

Ganesh Gupta re-elected

In Nizamabad Urban Bigala Ganesh Gupta was re-elected by over 24,300 votes, defeating the Congress nominee Taher Bin Hamdan.

Former MLA Yendala Laxminarayana who shot to fame by defeating a political giant D. Srinivas in 2009 and 2010 elections, came in third position.

Hanmanth Shinde retained Jukkal (SC reserved) with a huge margin of 35,880 votes over the senior Congress leader Saudagar Gangaram who held the constituency four times earlier. Former MLA T. Aruna Tara who joined the BJP in the last hour got 18,903.

Akula Lalitha loses

Bajireddy Govardhan secured Nizamabad Rural once again by defeating MLC R. Bhoopathi Reddy of Congress by over 18,000 votes, and in Armoor -- A. Jeevan Reddy won by routing MLC Akula Lalitha of Congress by 29,132.

BJP nominee P. Vinaykumar Reddy got 19,404. Here 1,650 voters pressed NOTA.
