IT firm Cyient and Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) have joined hands to improve employability of engineering students by imparting technical and soft skills training.
Together, they will work towards setting up a ‘train-and-hire’ model for fourth year students of mechanical, electrical, electronics and aeronautical domains in TASK-registered engineering colleges. Cyient has designed various training modules across these domains to help students get practical industry exposure.
Announcing the signing of an MoU between Cyient and TASK on Monday to collaborate on skill building, a press release said the partnership sought to leverage Cyient’s engineering expertise to create a pool of skilled workforce in Telangana equipped to meet industry needs.
The partnership with TASK opens significant opportunities for creating value in the field of engineering education for students and faculty, the release said.
Cyient vice president-HR Ramanand Puttige said, “Industries are facing a challenge in getting skilled engineers and this tie-up with TASK is part of our ongoing endeavour to promote the technical and leadership skill enhancement for a future-ready workforce.”
TASK CEO Sujiv Nair said industry-academic partnership such as these help bridge gaps and ensure students stay relevant to the ever-changing requirements of the digital world.
