The Cyberabad police made registrations as well as installation of CCTVs mandatory for hostels in the area. This is part of a campaign by the Cyberabad Police and the Society for Cyberabad Security Council for its ‘Project Safe Stay’.

A set of 14 guidelines which were released on this occasion, have to be adhered to by the hostels. The hostel and PG accommodation managements will be given about 45 days time to register and follow the guidelines.

Some of the guidelines released on Friday, include installing CCTV cameras, having proper entry and exit routes, maintaining the details of visitors and staff and keeping fire extinguishers and first aid kits on standby inside the premises.

Karthikeya Sharma, DCP, Madhapur, said that the initiative was another step towards the safety and security of the working women in the IT corridor.

Bharani Kumar Aroll, secretary for SCSC, said that apart from safety, the move would ensure a good partnership in creating a nurturing environment for better business transactions in the IT corridor.
