Huzurnagar CI, three constables suspended

They were involved in ‘illegal activities’

Hyderabad Range Inspector General of Police Stephen Raveendra has suspended a team of police officials, including a Circle Inspector, for their alleged involvement in illegal activities, police sources said on Tuesday.

An inquiry into allegations by shopkeepers, that officials were collecting mamool and booking inappropriate cases against them, showed that three constables and an inspector were allegedly involved.

It was also found out these policemen were involved in illegal sand mining, transport of gutka and misappropriation of essential commodities under the public distribution system.

Huzurnagar Circle Inspector V. Narsimhareddy, police constables – Balaram Reddy, Venkateswarlu and Kamalakar were suspended, the police confirmed.
