‘Human chain’ in support of govt. banks

A national umbrella body of bank officers will organise a human chain in the city on July 19 seeking to highlight the significance of saving public sector banks for the benefit of the economy and the country.

This is one of the activities All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC) has lined up in Hyderabad as part of the ongoing programmes nationwide to mark the golden jubilee year of bank nationalisation.

On Wednesday, AIBOC leaders addressed the media here. President of the Confederation’s Telangana and AP units B. Sukkaiah public sector banks had played a major role in shaping the growth of Indian economy. Privatisation of the banks, he added, would result in chaos.
