J.S. Ifthekhar, a senior journalist who was with The Hindu till recently, was awarded the ‘Best Journalist Award’ by the Hyderabad district administration on the occasion of the first Telangana Formation Day celebrations.
It carries a cash prize of Rs. 51,000 and a citation.
The prestigious award was given away by Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy at a function held at Ravindra Bharathi on Tuesday evening, in the presence of Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya, Rajya Sabha member V. Hanumantha Rao (Congress) and Ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav (Commercial Taxes), T. Padma Rao (Excise) and BJP Floor Leader in the Assembly K. Laxman.
