Home healthcare services launched

Another home healthcare provider, India Home Health Care, has arrived to partake of the city’s growing market for healthcare services in the city. The company has launched its services in Hyderabad here on Tuesday.

Offering geriatric care and baby care besides, homecare services for pulmonology, cardiology, neurological health, orthopedics and tracheotomy, the company has served over 10,000 patients per annum in Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Pune, the co-founder and managing director of the company V. Thiyagarajan informed the media at the launch event.

Elderly care, post surgical care, and rehabilitative care are the specialised areas where the company is making its mark felt. The care givers number over 800 in all the four cities, who include, besides registered nurses and associate nurses, medical caretakers or bedside assistants in large numbers.

A pilot project has been initiated in Ranchi to train 10,000 bedside assistants, and plans are afoot to give formal training in cooking and driving too to them for effective elderly care, Mr. Thiyagarajan informed.

A training institute in Kerala is training people for pre and post natal care, and tie-ups are made with corporate companies for offering these services to its women employees, he informed.

A bedside assistant will cost Rs.650 per 12 hours. Also available are annual packages which include doctor’s visits and nursing care.
