HMR to build new bridge on Musi

January 10, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMR) will be constructing a new bridge on Musi between Rangamahal junction and Imlibun bus depot and soon take up construction of interchange station of corridor one and corridor two at the site once the TSRTC relocates its material.

Corridor one is between Miyapur-LB Nagar while Corridor two is from JBS to Falaknuma. Senior officers of the metro rail, traffic police, RTC and others will jointly inspect to take a final decision, said Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma during the special task force meeting held to review the project’s progress on Friday.

Gopalapuram Traffic Police station land and quarters will be taken over by shifting the PS to a nearby municipal building after suitable changes in 10 days.

The HMR also urged the GHMC to complete the diversion of the ongoing sewer line near Alugudda Bavi road under bridge so that the facility can be thrown open for traffic and allow construction of the metro viaduct. The municipal corporation was also asked to look into the compensation issues relating to Government Vested Municipal properties and complete land acquisitions in 45 days.

Metropolitan Commissioner Pradeep Chandra, Principal Secretary (Revenue) B.R. Meena, GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar and other top officials were present.
