HCU PhD student killed in accident

A PhD student of Hyderabad Central University Meesala Uma Shanker, 35, died in a road accident at APPA junction under Rajendranagar police station limits on Sunday afternoon.

Shanker was going on a two wheeler from Gachibowli towards Rajendranagar when a water tanker coming in the opposite direction hit him. He died on the spot.

The tanker driver fled leaving behind his vehicle.

Meanwhile, a two-and-half year old boy was killed after a car hit him at Mansoorabad in L. B. Nagar on Sunday.

R Surya of Sri Rama Hills Colony was playing in front of the house when a car driven by a businessman, Vishnuvardhan Reddy, hit him.
