Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) achieved a highest ever production of 27.20 million tonnes of coal in the six months ended September 30. This was 108 per cent when compared to the 25.09 MT target set and 27 per cent more than the 21.34 MT produced in the first half of the previous fiscal. SCCL said 28.34 MT coal was despatched to customers, which was 14.55 per cent growth over the 24.74 MT supply in the year ago period.
All necessary steps were being initiated to increase supply of coal to power units in Telangana, a release from the company on Wednesday said.
