Man kills grandmother in Tandur

May 10, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - HYDERABAD:

A 65-year-old woman was robbed and murdered allegedly by her grandson and son-in-law at Tandur in neighbouring Ranga Reddy district on Friday night. The accused persons later took away her gold chain, the police said. Hanumamma, a labourer, lived with her grandson Dinesh (25) at Gandhinagar in Tandur. Dinesh was habituated to consume liquor and quarrelled with his grandmother whenever she did not give him money. On Friday evening, he came home along with his uncle Srinivas (35) in an inebriated state and picked up quarrel with Hanumamma. “She did not give him money and went to bed. Dinesh and Srinivas slit her throat while she was asleep and decamped with the gold chain,” Tandur Sub-Inspector Abhinav Chaturvedhi said.
