Owing to a depression over the Bay of Bengal, heavy rain has been forecast over isolated places of coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, south Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka and Kerala for the next two days.

Fishermen have been advised not to venture into Southwest Bay of Bengal, Gulf of Mannar and along and off Tamil Nadu coast on Tuesday and Wednesday.

A joint bulletin of the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) and Indian Met Department on Monday warned of strong wind speed reaching 35-45 kmph over Southwest Bay of Bengal. Wind speeds of 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph are also very likely to prevail over the same area, Gulf of Mannar and along and off Tamil Nadu coast.

Another deep depression over Southeast Arabian Sea weakened into a depression and is likely to weaken into a well marked low pressure area during the next 48 hours.
