Kanwaljit Singh, former India-A off-spinner and now Director of Hyderabad Cricket Academy of Excellence at Gymkhana Ground here, has been suspended from discharging his duties on Friday.

This follows a criminal complaint lodged against the cricketer by Virender Yadav, brother of former Test cricketer and now BCCI vice-president N. Shivlal Yadav, recently in connection with an alleged assault on him by Kanwaljit.

Enquiry panel

HCA would also soon constitute an enquiry committee to look into the issue and pending submission of that report, Kanwaljit will not function as the director, it was said.

“I am a victim of HCA’s dirty politics. The facts will soon come out as my clean as my conscience is clear,” said Kanwaljit, when contacted.
