HC to continue hearing of Tsunduru case

March 21, 2014 09:32 pm | Updated June 08, 2016 04:52 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The Division Bench of the AP High Court comprising Justice L. Narasimha Reddy and Justice M.S.K. Jaiswal on Friday made it clear that it would continue to adjudicate the criminal appeals pertaining to the Tsunduru Dalit killings.

Rejecting the plea made by Special Public Prosecutor not to hear the case further on Friday, the Bench said that notices would be issued to Special Public Prosecutors and J. Moses, who filed an affidavit regarding the change of Bench, for further action. On Friday, the High Court Bench held that the arguments on the cases would be heard on March 25 (Tuesday). The Bench said it was not proper for the Special Public Prosecutors to be approached by the victims. The Bench found that both the Special Prosecutors and Jalladi Moses, president of the Tsunduru Dalitha Badhitula Porata Committee, obstructed process of law and functioning of court.

Show-cause notice

The Bench also directed the registry to issue show-cause notices to these three to explain as to why further proceedings, as suggested by the Additional Attorney General, be not initiated against them.
