HC hears petitions against GOs 21, 22

Removal of quota for in-service doctors in PG medical entrance challenged

March 28, 2018 11:28 pm | Updated 11:28 pm IST - HYDERABAD

A division bench of Hyderabad High Court comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice K. Vijayalakshmi on Wednesday heard arguments on the writ petitions challenging Telangana GOs 21 and 22, removing quota for in-service doctors in post-graduate medical courses. The arguments would continue on Thursday. Five days ago, the GOs were issued doing away with the earlier system of reserving 50% seats in PG medical courses of government colleges. Instead of reservation, it decided to award weightage marks to in-service doctors.

In-service doctors filed the writ petitions challenging the decision.
