Governor presents awards for blood donation

Colonel Sunil Uniyal and Kiran Uniyal of Military Station, Secunderabad, were presented with the Governor’s Award for being active voluntary coordinators, motivators and regular blood donors plus for having organised several major blood donation camps at a function organised by the Indian Red Cross Society (AP & TS) in Raj Bhavan on Tuesday.

Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan, also the chairman of both chapters, gave away the awards to the duo for also helping in collecting the highest number of 3,704 blood units.

1 EME Centre Secunderabad Commandant Ajay Malik was presented with Governor’s Award for conducting two major blood donation camps and for contributing 977 blood units, a press release said.

Artillery Centre, Golconda, Hyderabad Commandant Rohit Butalia was presented the Governor’s Award for conducting one of the largest blood donation camps on a single day and collecting 1,417 blood units.

Military officers, IRC Telangana chapter honorary chairman B.V. Papa Rao, A.P. chapter honorary chairperson Rachel Chatterjee and others were present.
