Government hospitals getting new look

Secondary hospitals in the city are receiving a makeover from the State government, so as to attract the masses.

Senior health officials said the government was working to give the hospitals a makeover to increase footfalls, by giving them a corporate hospital-like appearance and ramping up service.

Apart from the hospital’s visitors’ area, spaces like labour units were being modernised. After the introduction of the KCR Kits scheme, Government hospitals had seen an increase in birth rate.

On Tuesday, I.T. Minister K.T. Rama Rao tweeted on modernisation work undertaken at King Koti Hospital and Malakpet Area Hospital. He called the efforts the “changing face of healthcare”.
