TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said meetings with party cadres had been completed in 18 Assembly constituencies.

TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said meetings with party cadres had been completed in 18 Assembly constituencies.

Completing meetings with party cadres in 18 of the 23 Assembly constituencies in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) leaders on Wednesday exuded confidence that people would favour the Congress in the coming elections.

At a press conference, TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said the five other constituencies would also be covered by June 30. While the meeting in Rajendranagar will be held on June 29, those for LB Nagar, Secunderabad, Karwan and Gosha Mahal will be organised on June 30, he said.

Mr. Reddy said the meetings were held with the participation of party seniors including SC Cell chairman Koppula Raju and secretary Ramachandra Kuntiya from the AICC, TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Congress Legislature Party leader K. Jana Reddy, Leader of Opposition in the Council Mohd. Ali Shabbir and former PCC presidents D. Srinivas and Ponnala Lakshmaiah, apart from MPs, MLCs, MLAs and former Ministers.

Among things that were beginning to appear clear were that Muslims in GHMC who had till now trusted the were disillusioned with the MIM aligning with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
