GHMC has directed all the advertising agencies to pull down flexis immediately and not to mount flexis or display advertisements on hoardings and uni-poles till June l5, 2017.

The decision was taken following the lndia Meteorological Department (IMD) informing the government that there is the possibility of heavy showers of of the order of 5-10 cm an hour and strong/gusty winds ranging between 100-150 kmph. Such weather conditions could also generate lightning, thunder, hails in the coming month, it said in a report submitted. Strong winds on Tuesday night led to four hoardings in different locations collapsing causing damage to the property and vehicles in their area of impact.

Since, continuance of display of advertisements through hoardings and unipoles is likely to cause threat to safety of the public and property in the vicinity, Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy gave the directive to the agencies.
