Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has alleged that GHMC Special Commissioner Somesh Kumar has been acting as an agent of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and its newly-found ally All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party in the delimitation of GHMC divisions.
Stating that large-scale irregularities were taking place in the delimitation of GHMC divisions from 150 to 200, the TPCC chief said here on Sunday that the authorities of the civic body led by Mr. Somesh Kumar were taking forward the process with an aim to benefit TRS and MIM parties electorally. The Congress party would complain to the Election Commission, Governor and Chief Secretary of Telangana against the AP-cadre officer’s biased functioning, he said.
“I have taken the issue to the notice of Mr. Somesh Kumar a month ago, when the officer assured me of convening an all-party meeting to discuss the issue. I called him over phone again today, when he told me that the meeting was already held and he did not know who attended from the Congress party”, Mr. Uttam Kumar stated explaining the attitude of the civic body in-charge. “How could he conduct such an important meeting without inviting the main opposition,” he asked.
Mr. Reddy said the Congress party would not hesitate even to move the court, if justice was not done.
