Ghatkesar-Keesara stretch to be functional by December

October 08, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:37 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The nearly 11 km stretch of Outer Ring Road (ORR) between Ghatkesar and Keesara will be opened for vehicles by December. But for a Road over Bridge (RoB) near Ghatkesar, almost all the scheduled work on this stretch has been completed, said the ORR Chief General Manager, B. Anand Mohan.

“The RoB work is also in progress and we expect it to be completed by November,” he said.

However, the last bit of the ORR final arc between Keesara and Shamirpet, which was entangled in protracted delays and cancellation of tenders, will be ready only next year.

According to Mr. Mohan, the main carriageway of this stretch will be in place by 2016 January-end. “However, service roads for this stretch can be readied only by July,” he added.
