FTAPCCI, Russian body sign pact to boost trade

The Federation of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTAPCCI) and the Tomsk Chamber of Commerce & Industry from the Russian Federation on Wednesday entered into a memorandum of understanding to boost bilateral trade and business.

FTAPCCI president Arun Luharuka and Tomsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Marina Uskova signed the MoU, which is expected to emerge as the foundation for formal platform for collaboration.

The MoU was signed at a programme FTAPCCI organised here for the 15-member delegation from Tomsk that visited Hyderabad to explore trade ties and mutual investment opportunities. From food, ice cream and confectionery; medical products and equipment; consumer and children’s goods, toys; oil and gas; energy; to water and wastewater treatment plants the members of delegation had diverse trade and business interests.

The delegation was led by Deputy Governor of Tomsk Region for Economy Andrey Antonov.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation E.V. Narasimha Reddy said like Tomsk in Russia, Telangana is rich in natural resources. The State, he said, offered excellent opportunities in the field of pharma, IT and ITES, services and manufacturing sectors. It is developing food processing sector in the backdrop of a special emphasis on agriculture sector, he said, assuring support in terms of local collaboration for the Russian entrepreneurs.
