Friday sermons to include homilies for houseowners

May 28, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - Hyderabad:

The Friday sermon at most mosques in the city will include a homily to house owners about the need to verify the credentials of tenants before letting out premises.

The move follows the recent raid on a brothel being run at a posh colony under Golconda police station, where police arrested one organiser and rescued five women from Mumbai.

“ Such activities give a bad name to the neighbourhood.. It is better if the problem in nipped in the bud,” says Mohammed Ghulam Nabi, caretaker of Masjid-e-Mustafa at Attapur.

We cannot allow the image of our colonies to get tarnished by a handful of people: Khaja Ali Babar
