Two students held

on murder charge

Two Intermediate students were arrested by the Chandrayangutta police on charge of murdering their childhood friend a fortnight ago after an altercation over a chariot.

The accused -- Syed Ibrahim (19) and Mohammed Manzoor-ul-Haq (20) -- pursuing Intermediate from two different colleges, developed differences with their friend, Ali Affari (20) after the latter refused to give back chariot to them.

Affari took the chariot before the Bakrid festival.

When Ibrahim asked him to return it, the former refused saying that Manzoor asked him to keep it.

However, Ibrahim took away the chariot and kept it at the house of Manzoor, the police said.

On October 2, Affari along with his friend, Mohammed Sadi, went to the house of Ibrahim and brought the chariot back from the place. In evening, Ibrahim met Affari and asked him to return it but the latter asked him to meet in the night.

“Ibrahim along with Manzoor went to his house with a knife.

The duo on noticing Saadi and Affari on Balapur road, attacked them. While Ibrahim stabbed Affari, his friend Manzoor attacked Saadi,” DCP (South) V Satyanarayana said.

Affari sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a private hospital where he succumbed to stab wounds.
