Former Congress legislator and senior advocate Bomma Venkateshwar, 78, passed away at a corporate hospital in Hyderabad while undergoing treatment for an ailment on Monday evening. His last rites would be performed in Karimnagar on Wednesday.
He started his political career as a municipal councillor in Karimnagar, and became the Congress party legislator from Indurthi Assembly segment in 1999. He occupied several posts in the Congress and worked for strengthening the party. He worked as the chairman of Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Devasthanam during the Congress regime. He was also the president of Munnuru Kapu Sangam.
