A Hong Kong-bound Cathay Pacific flight made an emergency landing at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport after taking off from the city about half an hour before.

The plane CX-646 took off at 1.50 a.m. on Sunday with 244 passengers but landed later. The A330-300 plane was scheduled to reach destination at 9.40 a.m. Though no official statement was made on why it returned to the city, sources said it might have suffered a bird hit. The passengers were adjusted on other airlines while the plane remained grounded in Hyderabad.
